How will Nicorette Lozenges help me to quit smoking?
Nicorette Lozenges are a form or NRT treatment, which means that they replace the nicotine that you would usually get from cigarettes. Each lozenge contains 2mg of nicotine, which helps to ease withdrawal so your cravings will subside, making it easier to quit smoking for good.
Why do I crave cigarettes?
When you smoke, your body becomes dependent on the nicotine which is contained in cigarettes. When you try to quit smoking, your body begins to crave nicotine, which causes unwanted symptoms and makes you want to smoke. This is why some people turn to NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy), which gives your body the nicotine it craves, helping to ease your cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Uses / Instructions
Take one Nicorette Lozenge and let it dissolve slowly in your mouth. Do not chew or swallow this product. The amount of lozenges you will need to take will differ depending on the amount you typically smoke every day:
- If you smoke 20 or fewer cigarettes a day – Take 1 x 2mg lozenges whenever needed to ease your cravings
- If you smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day – Take 1 x 4mg lozenges whenever needed to ease your cravings.
Do not take more than 15 lozenges in one day, do not take more than the recommended dose.
Side Effects
Like all medications, Nicotine Lozenges can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop use and seek medical help immediately:
- Fast heart rate or heartbeat
- Abnormal heartbeat
- Chest palpitations
- Shortness of breath
- Allergic reactions, e.g. swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, and tongue, itching, swelling of the skin, ulceration and inflammation of the lining of the mouth, difficulty breathing, dizziness)

Ingredients
The active ingredient is nicotine.
Each lozenge contains 2 or 4 milligrams of nicotine (as nicotine resinate).
