What are Threadworms?
Threadworms are tiny worms that infest your gut and you can spot in your poo. They have the appearance of thin, white threads and are common among children. Threadworms can cause irritation and itchiness around the anus, especially at night.
What are the Symptoms of Threadworms?
More often or not, threadworms go unnoticed by people as the symptoms can be subtle.
One symptom people can experience is an intense itching around the anus (or the vagina for girls). More so at night when female threadworms are laying their eggs and can disturb your sleep.
In some cases, people have actually spotted threadworms on their bedclothes and sheets at night or can be spotted in your stool. These look like threads of white cotton about 1 centimetre long.
Severes threadworm infections can cause:
- Bedwetting
- Struggles to sleep or to say asleep
- Sudden weight loss
- Weight loss
In very extreme cases, threadworms can find themselves outside the intestines and enter the urinary tract or the liver. For women, in very rare cases for girls and adult women, threadworms can be seen outside the vagina or womb.
How do Ovex Tablets Works?
Ovex Family Pack Tablets work by preventing the worms from being able to absorb sugars in the body which are essential for their survival. This causes the worms to lose energy drastically and eventually die within a few days. Dead worms are naturally excreted from the gut in the stools.
