Description
Thea Lipid eye drops contain ingredients that are found naturally on the surface of the eye. The natural phospholipids and triglycerides are carefully selected to mimic the outermost layer of the tear film. The lipids in Thea Lipid eye drops thereby prevent evaporation from the surface of the eye by increasing the thickness of the lipid layer and enabling normal spreading of the tears.
Blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) are commonly associated with dry eye symptoms and one, or both, is present in the majority of cases. It is these conditions that affect the outermost lipid layer of the tear film.
With lipid deficiency, it is common to have symptoms such as watery eyes or a burning sensation in the eyes. In addition, eyelids and eyelid margins are often involved. They may be swollen, irritated and red. Sometimes there is also secretions on the edges of the eyelids.
