Maca is a root vegetable that only grows at very high altitudes – between 3000 and 4000 metres above sea level – high in the Andean mountains of Peru away from environmental contaminants. The robust root battles extreme conditions and is able to withstand high winds and temperatures as low as -10°C.
Warrior Food
Used for centuries by the indigenous people of the Andes. The Incas found maca so potent that the root was prescribed to warriors in preparation for battles to increase their strength and endurance.
